Edward J. Schnaus, 73, Jasper

Edward J. Schnaus, 73, of Jasper, died Friday, April 10, at his home. He was born in Jasper September 8, 1946, to Clarence and Rosetta (Schutz) Schnaus. He married June Klingel January 18, 1969, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Ed retired as a sales manager from Suberb Tooling in Ferdinand. He also worked for North American Products and Drake Corporation. He was highly regarded as an expert in carbide tooling.

He was a member of St. Joseph Church and its Holy Name Society and the Jasper Rifle and Gun Club. He enjoyed target shooting, watching sporting events, especially Notre Dame football, and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, June Schnaus; one daughter, Kara Schnaus, Indianapolis; one son; Alan Schnaus and wife Heather, Jasper; two grandchildren, Brock and Hank Schnaus; four sisters-in-law; Dorothy Tyler and husband Curt and Karen Schulte and husband Doug, all of Jasper, Rosemarie Siemens, Lousiville, and Sister Mary Beth Klingel, SP, St. Mary of the Woods; and one brother-in-law, John Klingel, Del Ray Beach, Florida.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Schnaus, who died in infancy, and his step-father, Alvin Wigger.

Private funeral services will be held at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home in Jasper with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.
