Donald L. “Dutch” Stenftenagel, 86, Jasper
Donald L. “Dutch” Stenftenagel, 86, of Jasper, died Thursday, March 5, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. He was born in Jasper in Jasper October 8, 1933, to Edward and Gertrude (Neuhoff) Stenftenagel.
Dutch was a 1951 graduate of Jasper High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 164th Infantry from 1953 to 1955. He retired from Kimball where he worked as a truck driver and fork lift operator for several years. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and was a member of American Legion Post 147, VFW Post 673, and the Jasper Moose.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Hurst and husband Ken, Kim Zehr and husband Mark, and Micki Wolf, all of Jasper; one son, Steve Stenftenagel and wife Sharon, Jasper; daughter-in-law Chella Stenftenagel, Petersburg; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Jeff Stenftenagel, one sister JoAnn Prechtel, and two brothers, Jerome “Dimp” and Larry Stenftenagel.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherkluesner.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with burial following at a later date. VFW Post 673 will conduct military rites.
