Local Wrestlers headed to State


Three seniors from Southridge are headed to Bankers Life Field house as they advanced from the Evansville semi-state this weekend at the Ford Center.

Sam Schroeder, Phoenix Rodgers and Sam Scott did what it takes to advance to the state and are looking end their high school careers the best way they can with a state medal.  As juniors all three had qualified for the semi-state last year but fell a bit short at Evansville.  Good luck to all three as they wrestle in their weight classes.

Jasper High School had 6 guys participate in the Evansville semi-state. 2 wrestlers advanced to the Quarter finals but just fell short of a state qualification. IHSAA Semi-State @ Evansville Reitz.

Results for Jasper 106 – Jainier Milanes lost by decision 3-5 to Blake Zirkelbach (North Posey)

113 – Xavi Lopez lost by fall 1:17 to Cheaney Schoeff (Avon)

126 – Jeb Prechtel (Jasper) won by fall 3:40 over Jacob McRoberts (Madison Consolidated) Quarterfinal – Jeb Prechtel (Jasper) lost by Fall 1:30 to Raymond Rioux (Avon)

145 – Ian Giesler lost by fall 5:35 to Tristan Martin (North Posey)

152- Sam Bies lost by fall 3:28 to Logan Boe (Danville Community)

195 – Ashton Schuetter – Ashton Schuetter (Jasper) won by fall 4:58 over Brady McLain (Southwestern (Hanover)) Quarterfinal – Ashton Schuetter lost by Fall 1:19 to Phoenix Rodgers (Heritage Hills)
