Ferrel V. Bredhold, 86, Ferdinand

Ferrel V. Bredhold, 86, of Ferdinand, died Saturday, February 15, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was born in Jasper April 17, 1933, to Edward and Verena (Hedinger) Bredhold. He married Bernida Schipp May 12, 1960, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand. She died November 15, 2017.

Ferrel served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 and Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. He enjoyed country music, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and Indiana University basketball.

He is survived by two sons, Scott Bredhold and wife Marilyn and Glenn Bredhold and wife Jane, all of Jasper; one brother, Edward Bredhold, Huntingburg; five grandchildren, Ben, Josh and wife Alyssa, Samantha, Kristin, and Nick Bredhold; brother-in-law Jerry Dorsam, Jasper; and sister-in-law Lu Bredhold, Florida.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Bredhold, and two sisters, Marilyn Dorsam and La Verne Sermersheim.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com. Funeral services  at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ferdinand Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will conduct military graveside rites.
