Dubois County Bombers Blast Fulton at Home, Jasper Reds Open Up 2019 Season with Double Header Sweep

Dubois County (NNDC):  The Dubois County Bombers improve to 2-1 on the season as they dominate the Fulton Railroaders on Sunday night and pick up a 13-5 win.   The Railroaders jump out on top early with 1 run crossing the plate in the top of the first before the Bombers answered back in the bottom of the inning on an Evan Kahre sac fly.  Dubois County added 3 more runs in the bottom of the third inning.   The Bombers put up 5 additional runs in the 6th to put the game away.

Thomas King picked up the win for Dubois County.  He went three innings, allowed one run on three hits and struck out 1.  The Bombers tallied 13 hits on the day including a Matt Joslin home run in the 3rd inning.  Easton Stewart went 3 for 5 at the plate for Dubois County.   The Bombers return to action on Tuesday as they host Madisonville.  First pitch is set for 7pm at League Stadium.



The Jasper Reds open up the 2019 campaign with a double header sweep of visiting Saline County.   In game one,  Oakland City product Devin Franz pitched a no hitter and struck out 11 Monarchs to lead the Reds to a 4-0 victory.  Franz was also hot at the plate as he had a double and two singles.   Reese Bauer had a double and a single while Collin Smith added a double for the Reds.

In game 2, Jasper outslugged Saline County on the way to a 9-4 win.   Josh Weidenbenner picked up the win on the mound for the Reds.   Former Jasper Wildcat Trevor Krapf had 2 doubles for Jasper, Trevor Zink added another double and Reese Bauer picked up a pair of hits and went 4-6 on the day between the two games.

The Reds are now 2-0 on the season and will return to action on Sunday to face the Pittsboro Sluggers in a double header.  First pitch from Ruxer Field is set for 1:30pm.
