Bombers Fall Short on Comeback at League Stadium

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Dubois County Bombers struck first on Tuesday night at League Stadium with 2 runs crossing the plate in the 2nd inning.   Muhlenberg County would strike big in the fifth inning as the Stallions plated 7 giving them a 5 run lead.   The Stallions would add to that lead in the sixth with 2 more runs before Dubois County made a comeback attempt.

The Bombers picked up four runs in the bottom of the 6th and added two more in the 7th bringing Dubois County within 1 run.   Both teams shutdown the other in the 8th and 9th inning which led to the Bombers dropping their regular season home finale by the score of 9-8.   The loss leaves Dubois County 1 1/2 game behind Owensboro in the OVL East Division with one game left in the regular season.   The Bombers will travel to league leader Owensboro on Wednesday night.

Colton Easterwood took the loss for Dubois County.   He allowed six hits and seven runs while striking out 5 in five innings of work.   The Bombers had 12 hits in the game.   Cooper Trinkle led Dubois County with 3 hits on the night.   Ben Wilcoxson, Payton Mattingly and Nolan Ramsey also had 2 hits each.
