Bombers Drop Regular Season Finale to Owensboro

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Dubois County Bombers closed out their regular season on Wednesday night at league leading Owensboro with a loss 6-3.   The RiverDawgs struck first in the bottom of the second inning as one run crossed the plate.   Owensboro added a run in the fourth but the big blow to Dubois County came in the seventh as the RiverDawgs pushed four more runs across the plate giving them a 6-0 lead.    The Bombers threatened a comeback in the ninth inning as Dubois County plated 3 runs, but fell short of the win.

The loss is the Bombers 3rd in their last four games and drops their record to 25-16 as the regular season comes to a close.   Dubois County has won 7 of their last 10 games despite the recent losses.    Jacob Frankel took the loss for Dubois County.   Frankel allowed two hits, one run and struck out two in his two innings of work.   The Bombers had seven hits in the game with Evan Hall leading Dubois County with 2 hits.

Up next for the Dubois County Bombers is post season play which will begin on Friday night.    The Bombers will host the Henderson Flash at League Stadium in the best 2 of 3 series.
