Jasper Man Now Facing Multiple Felony Drug Charges
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says it received an anonymous tip Wednesday about possible drug activity at an apartment home in the 1700 block of Greene Street in Jasper.
DCSD says deputies made contact with the apartment’s tenant, 46-year old Charles Forrest. Deputies say they observed several items of drug paraphernalia in plain view. DCSD despite this, Forrest would not consent to a search of his home, so a search warrant was obtained.
DCSD says Jasper police officers were called in to help execute the search warrant and subsequent search of the apartment.
DCSD says the search turned up various amounts of cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, controlled substances, along with what officers describe as items “related to narcotic sales.
Forrest is now charged with a Level 4 felony count of Dealing in Cocaine, and Level 6 felony counts of Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
He also faces misdemeanor counts of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
A Level 4 felony conviction carries a prison sentence of between 2 and 12 years.
