Earl Elwood Johnson, 84, Huntingburg
Earl Elwood Johnson, 84, of Huntingburg, died Tuesday (November 10) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Huntingburg July 31, 1931, to Oscar Thomas and Mary (Rikard) Johnson. He married Elizabeth A. Hartwick December 17, 1989, in Huntingburg. She died March 31, 2011.
Earl was a furniture factory worker, a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland, and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by one son, Daniel Johnson and wife Betty, Jasper; one daughter, Debbie Blume and husband Brad, Shiloh, Illinois; two step-daughters, Amy Kelley and husband Monte, St. Meinrad, and Ellen Corn and husband Matthew, Peteersburg; one stepson, Jim Staats and wife Tammy, Evansville; two sisters, Anna Mae Benning and Sharon Kapp, both of Huntingburg; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Alice Lemond.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland. Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions are requested in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at noon (EST) Friday at St. Paul Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Pastor Debbie Roe will officiate at the service.
