Inaugural Ferdinand Folk Festival Songwriter Competition Winners Crowned
FERDINAND (Local Sources) – Louisville’s Nick Peay won the 18-and-over division and Owensboro’s Hayley Payne took home the honors for the under-18 division in Saturday’s Ferdinand Folk Festival Songwriter Competition held at the Ferdinand American Legion.
As the overall winner, Peay will kick off the Main Stage of music at the sixth annual Ferdinand Folk Festival on Saturday, September 19th. Payne will be featured on multiple sets on the Market Stage.
“We’d like to thank to the musicians for their good nature and for the willingness to share their gifts and talents,” said the competition’s co-chair, Rock Emmert. “The audience was respectful and full attention was given to the performers. It was a most memorable night.”
The singer-songwriter competition was sponsored by Monkey Hollow Bistrow Winery located in the historic Wollenman Home in the heart of Ferdinand.
The sixth annual Ferdinand Folk Festival will be held on Saturday, September 19, in Ferdinand, Indiana’s beautiful 18th Street Park.
The event will, again, be free of charge to attend and is presented for the third consecutive year by Best Home Furnishings, as well as Kyana Woodstock, Access Storage Now, and Kimball Electronics.
