Jasper Man Arrested For Aggravated & Domestic Battery; DCSD Looking For Stolen Car Trailer (POLICE BLOTTER)
LOCAL MAN ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC BATTERY; SEVERAL OTHER CHARGES
JASPER (NNDC) – A Jasper man was arrested early Sunday morning on a charge of Domestic Battery.
Jasper police say they were called to a home in the 300 block of west Sixth Street shortly before 5:00AM for a domestic dispute. JPD says as officers were arriving at the home, they noticed a male subject walking along Sixth Street with no shirt on and blood on his face and hand.
The man, 27-year old Kyle Holtrust, was detained by officers who then made contact with a female at the house.
The woman told officers Holtrust punched her in the face while pulling her hair and yelling obscenities during the dispute. She also told officers he poured a bottle of alcohol on her and attempted to set her on fire while saying he was going to kill her.
Later, while being treated for cuts on his body, police say Holtrust made threatening comments to EMS personnel.
Holtrust is charged with Aggravated Battery (Level 3 felony), Domestic Battery (Class A misdemeanor), Intimidation (Level 5 felony), Disorderly Conduct, (Class A misdemeanor), Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A misdemeanor), Criminal Recklessness (Class A misdemeanor), and Intimidation of a Hospital Employee (Level 6 felony).
SEARCH CONTINUES FOR STOLEN CAR TRAILER
JASPER (NNDC) – The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department continues to ask for help from the public in attempting to find the person or people that stole a car trailer from Terwiske Glass Body Inc. in Ireland.
DCSD says sometime after closing the evening of the August 6th, the trailer was taken from the front parking area of the building.
Anyone with information is requested to contact the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department at 812-482-3522 and leave the information for Deputy Tim Rasche.
The owner of the trailer is also offering a reward for the recovery and prosecution of the person(s) involved. As always, you may remain anonymous if you choose to do so.
UNLICENSED DRIVER ARRESTED FOR O.W.I.
JASPER (NNDC) – 29-year old Jonathon Barco was arrested early Sunday morning after police received a tip of a possible impaired driver. The witness told dispatch officers the vehicle was seen swerving over the fog and yellow lines of U. S. 231.
JPD says Barco’s vehicle was pulled over near the “Y” on the southside of Jasper at about 12:45AM. Police say officers immediately detected an odor of alcoholic beverages.
Barco, whose address is unknown, was taken into custody charged with Operating While Intoxicated, O.W.I. with Endangerment, O.W.I. with a Minor Child in the Vehicle, and Operating a Motor Vehicle having never been licensed.
JPD says Barco’s blood alcohol content tested .087%.
