ATV Accident Results In OWI Charge; Jasper Man Crashes Motorcycle (BLOTTER)
LOCAL WOMAN ARRESTED FOR O.W.I.ON A.T.V.
HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – A Huntingburg woman was arrested early Sunday morning charged with operating while intoxicated.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department say 19-year old Allie Jones was arrested after a DCSD deputy saw her obstruct traffic on Old Indiana 64 while on a camouflage ATV. DCSD says Jones’ ATV was almost struck by a vehilce while making an illegal U-turn.
DCSD says Jones’ blood alcohol content was .13%. The incident happened at about 1:00AM.
DRIVER ARRESTED FOR HAVING NEVER BEEN LICENSED
HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – One of two drivers involved in a Saturday night accident at 8th and Main streets was arrested by HPD.
The accident happened at 9PM. HPD says one of the drivers, 38-year-old Joel Vazquez Pinar, was operating a motor vehicle while having never been licensed at the time..
POLICE NEED HELP FINDING A HIT-AND-RUN S.U.V.
JASPER (NNDC) – Jasper Police are asking the public for its help in finding an SUV and its driver involved in a Saturday-evening accident.
JPD says 19-year old Autumn Langen of Lamar told officers she was driving north on Clay Street at about 7:40PM when a westbound Ford Explorer on Sixth Street struck her car and then continued westbound fleeing the scene. The car was heavily damaged.
Police say the Explorer is an older model and red in color. Police say it should have damage to its front end.

JASPER MAN ARRESTED AFTER BEING FOUND PASSED OUT LAYING IN THE ROAD
JASPER (NNDC) – A 24-year old Jasper man was arrested early Saturday morning after an accident.
JPD says they were called to the scene shortly after 1:00AM where they found 24-year old John Eckerle passed out in the street near 17th and Newton; next to his wrecked motorcycle.
He was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. JPD says Eckerle tested .23% and tested positive for opiates.
JPD says there was no damage to the motorcycle.
KENTUCKY MOTORISTS FACING SEVERAL CHARGES AFTER ARREST IN HUNTINGBURG
HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – An Owensboro, Kentucky man was arrested Saturday night charged with reckless driving.
A witness tells Huntingburg police an SUV driven by 28-year old Seaon Jones was seen at about 6:30PM driving eastbound from Ireland on Indiana 56. Later, he was seen heading south on U. S. 231 in Jasper all while fishtailing in the roadway, speeding, running several red lights, passing on the right, and, in no-passing zones.
HPD made contace with Jones after being stopped in the 1000 block of North Main Street in Huntingburg.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says Jones’ blood alcohol content tested .15%. DCSC also says Jones’ blood tested positive for marijuana, methamphetamine, amphetamines and MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy or Molly).
Jones is charged with misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated and reckless driving.
ILLINOIS MAN CHARGED AFTER STREET FIGHT IN HUNTINGBURG
HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – An Illnois man faces charges following a late Saturday night fight in the 1100 block of North Jackson Street.
HPD officers were call to a fight in-progress at about 11:10PM.
There officers found 30-year-old Isaiah Winnings, of Decatur, Illnois arguing with another man in the street.
HPD says responding officers detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from Winnings. Winnings refused to submit to a breath test at the scene.
He is charged with misdemeanor counts of public intoxication (with test refusal) and disorderly conduct.
ROLLOVER ACCIDENT RESULTS IN TWO ARRESTS
CELESTINE (NNDC) – The driver of a pickup truck and a passenger with him were both arrested after the truck was involved in a a roll-over accident Saturday morning west of Celestine.
DCSD says 19-year old Samuel Lee of Bretzville was driving north on South 500 East when he attempted to turn right onto Indiana 164. DCSD says Lee was driving at an unsafe speed. The truck went left of center, ran off the north side of Indiana 164 and rolled coming to rest on its side.
Lee and a passenger 19-year old Tyler Knies both escaped injury.
Lee was taken into custody charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (B.A.C. .14%). Knice was charged with minor consuming (BAC .10 percent).
JASPER (NNDC) – A Jasper man is facing several charges after police say he left the scene of a property damage accident in a local alley.
JPD says 36-year old Robert McKinney left the scene after his car struck a utility pole in the alley in the 1500 block between Mill and Dewey Streets at about 11:45 Saturday night.
Police say McKinney also refused to submit to a chemical test. He has been charged with misdemeanor counts of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating while intoxicated (with test refusal) and driving while suspended.
The utility pole, belonging to Frontier Communications, was not damaged.
