Jasper Man Faces Several Charges; Huntingburg Man Charged With OWI (POLICE BLOTTER)
JASPER (NNDC) – A domestic dispute resulted in a Jasper man being taken into custody late Tuesday afternoon.
Jasper police say 32-year old Nathan Phillips was arrested after they were called to a verbal domestic dispute in progress at Village Court Apartments.
Police say when they arrived, they observed Phillips throwing property of a female off the balcony of an apartment trying to hit her. Police say he he was throwing the property at the woman who called police.
Police say Phillips and the female were both belligerent and continued to fight even after officers arrived on scene. JPD says officers then went up into the apartment in an attempt to calm Phillips, but police say he became even more belligerent and more aggressive toward officers. Police say a short struggle ensued between Phillips and the officers.
Phillips is charged with Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Law Enforcement.
HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – A Huntingburg man was arrested charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Huntingburg police say 77-year Cyril Egler drove his SUV into a ditch right along U. S. 231 in front of Southridge High School. HPD officers say they detected an odor of alcohol coming from Egler when they arrived on scene to investigate.
HPD says field sobriety tests confirmed Egler was intoxicated. A certified chemical test at Memorial Hospital in Jasper determined Egler’s blood alcohol content was .169%.
CRYSTAL (NNDC) – An Orange County man escaped injury when his pickup truck struck a deer along Indiana 56 Tuesday morning.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says 49-year old Clifton Glass French Lick was westbound on 56 just before 5:30AM when his truck struck the deer that had wandered out onto the highway.
