Genevieve “Jenny” Miller, 93, Jasper
Genevieve “Jenny” Miller, 93 of Jasper, died Monday (July 20) at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Schnellville July 1, 1922, to Theodore and Mary (Hentrup) Prechtel. She married Sylvester Miller August 22, 1945, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville. He died November 22, 1985.
Jenny worked as the manager of Holiday Liquors in Jasper for over 30 years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella, and Jasper VFW Post No. 673 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital, enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards, watching baseball, and spending time with her grandchildren and great -grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughtrs, Elise Krapf and husband Tony, Renae Schmidt and husband Ken, and Annette Brelage and husband Lee, all of Jasper; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one step great-grandchild; one brother, Ernest Prechtel, Birdseye, and one sister-in-law, Lauretta Prechtel, Santa Claus.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Antoinette Knies, and four brothers; Richard, Emil, Sylvester, and Denis Prechtel.
