Dubois Woman Hospitalized Following Sunday Night ATV Accident
CUZCO (Indiana Department of Natural Resources) – A 26-year old Dubois woman was hospitalized following an ATV accident early Sunday night.
IDNR says Amanda Jones was a passenger on a side-by-side ATV driven by 29-year old Zachery Linne, also of Dubois.
Officers say Linne’s ATV was eastbound on Dubois-Cuzco Road when the ATV left the roadway and then re-entered the roadway rolling onto its side.
IDNR says Jones was ejected onto the pavement and suffered facial injuries, abrasions and road rash. She was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment.
She was not wearing a seatbelt nor any other protective gear; Linne was wearing his seatbelt.
IDNR says alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage the use of protective equipment such as helmets, gloves and riding boots while operating an ATV.
