Orders Being Taken For Maple Park School Bricks (with VIDEO)
HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – The Southwest Dubois School Corporation is now selling bricks from the recently demolished classroom section of the former Maple Park Elementary School building. The bricks are being sold as a fundraiser that will benefit technology purchases, the Raiders Involved in Daily Growth and Learning program, literacy and community involvement program at Huntingburg Elementary which replaced Maple Grove as the city’s main elementary school in 1999.
The school corporation says plain bricks can be purchased for $12 each and “stamped” bricks for $15 each. The stamped bricks will say “Memories of Days Gone By” and include the school’s years of operation. CLICK HERE FOR DOWNLOADABLE ORDER FORM
The school building at the First and Jackson streets was known as Huntingburg Elementary School from 1954 to 1971. It was renamed Maple Park Elementary School until the school closed in 1999. The administrative section of the building remains and will continue to house the Southwest Dubois School Corporation officees.
