Birdseye Man Seriously Hurt When His ATV Crashes With Pickup Truck

AccidentSIBERIA (NNDC) – A Birdseye man was seriously injured Sunday evening when the ATV he was driving crashed with a pickup truck at the Perry County intersection.

Indiana conservation officers say the accident happened just before 6pm when 19-year-old Aaron Huff was riding an ATV near Chaplin and October roads. They say Huff collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by Richard Lawrence of Ferdinand.

Huff suffered severe head trauma and broken bones. He was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville. Authorities say Huff was not wearing a helmet or any safety equipment according to authorities.

Lawrence only suffered minor injuries.

Authorities believe alcohol may have played a factor as the investigation is ongoing.
