Missoula Children’s Theatre Returning to Jasper Arts Center
JASPER (NNDC) – Missoula Children’s Theatre returns to the Jasper Arts Center the weekend of June 22-27 with the production of Sleeping Beauty, which will cast 50-60 children from grades one through 12. Jasper Community Arts and Actors Community Theatre are hosting the production.
The MCT team will hold open auditions the first day, rehearsals and workshops throughout the week, and two public performances on Saturday.
All workshops, rehearsals, and performances will be held at the Jasper Arts Center. The schedule is as follows:
Monday (June 22) 10 a.m.-noon – Auditions (no fee, students must stay the entire two hours). Noon-12:30 p.m. – Lunch for selected cast members (lunch supplied by ACT). 12:30-2:30 p.m. – Rehearsal (selected cast members and assistant directors).
Tuesday (June 23) – Friday (June 26) 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. – Rehearsals, workshops, and lunch. (Not all cast members will attend rehearsals every day).
Saturday (June 27) – Costumes and makeup, rehearsal, cast party, and two public performances (3 and 5:30 p.m.)
There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. Those not cast will be eligible to participate in workshops offered by MCT during the week. A small fee will apply. There is a $60 participation fee for students selected through the audition process. Payment made to ACT only if cast. The fee includes two complementary tickets for the public performance. Fees will be collected June 22 upon announcement of casting.
Auditions are open to students entering first grade through high school. Student assistant directors (ages 12-18) are also being sought.
