James David “Jim” DeCoursey, 69, Huntingburg
James David “Jim” DeCoursey, 69, of Huntingburg, died Thursday (June 4) at his home. He was born in Bicknell July 9, 1945, to Everett and Martha (Clemmons) DeCoursey. He married Damona Brown May 8, 1976, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Lamar.
Jim worked as a radiology technologist at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg and as a manufacturer’s representative for OFS Brands. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, where he served as church council president, the Huntingburg Y.M.I., and the Optimist Club. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Damona DeCoursey; one son, Greg DeCoursey and fiancé Billie Wininger, Vincennes; four daughters, Julia Kays and husband Sherman, Vincennes, and Kylie Lauderdale and husband Eric, Kelsey Menke and husband Cory, and Morgan Rust and husband Kyle, all of Huntingburg; one brother, Mike DeCoursey and wife Karen, Bicknell; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jane DeCoursey.
Services at 3 p.m. (EDT) Sunday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Friends may call from noon-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to a favorite charity. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com.
