clickit ticket story

INDIANAPOLIS (NNDC) – The Indiana State Police have announced results of its Click It or Ticket seat belt campaign, conducted May 15 through May 31. There were 2,973 tickets issued for beat belt law violations during that period. The number of tickets issued out of the Jasper District 34 Post is not available. The number only reflects citations issued by Indiana State Police personnel and is a preliminary number based on electronic ticket information. The number may increase with the reporting of hand written tickets.

The Ticket or Click It campaign is an annual enforcement effort supported by federal funds allocated to the Indiana State Police from the traffic safety division of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute. More than 200 troopers worked overtime to conduct seat belt patrols on Indiana roads and interstates. Indiana law enforcement agencies have been actively involved in the campaign for over 20 years.
