Banquet Kicks Off Saturday’s Second “Honor Flight” (VIDEO)
EVANSVILLE (NNDC) – The nearly 70 World War II veterans who will be on Saturday’s second “Honor Flight” from Evansville to Washington, D. C. gathered Thursday for a banquet in Evansville preparing themselves for the trip…
The flight is expected to land back at Evansville Regional Airport at about 9:30pm EDT (8:30pm Evansville time).
Local residents are invited to be a the airport’s terminal to welcome the veterans back home.
Evansville airport officials says parking at the airport is reserved for veterans and guardians and for airport customers.
Those wanting to attend the veterans’ return home can park at the Old Terminal lot on U.S. 41 (between Tri-State Aero and the Hampton Inn) or at Thunderbolt Pass Golf Course on Petersburg Road. Signs will be located at both sites.
Airport officials say shuttles are available to and from the airport beginning at 6:30pm EDT (5:30pm Evansville time).
