Songwriter Contest Entry Deadline Monday
Monday is the deadline for entering the 6th annual Ferdinand Folk Festival Songwriter Contest. Contest co-chair Rock Emmert says, “We have had submissions from all over the country. We would like to encourage local and regional songwriters in particular to consider submitting their work and letting their songs be heard.
The songwriting contest has two age categories – high school and younger, and high school graduates and older. Participants can submit up to three songs, each with a separate form. Submissions can be completed online at www.ferdinandfolkfestival.com/fsongwriter-contest. A downloadable form and official contest rules can be found at that same link.
The Festival, which will be headlined by critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter Elizabeth Cook, is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, September 19.
The Festival is the region’s premier earth-and-family-friendly event promoting music, arts, and the environment. The Festival’s singer-songwriter contest was created as another means to promote music, art, and environment awareness within Ferdinand and its surrounding areas and municipalities.
