Accident Sends Two To Hospital; Police Looking For Witnesses

JASPER (NNDC)  – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon.  The accident happened at the intersection of 30th and Newton streets at about 4:15pm.

Jasper police are also asking for any witnesses to the accident to come forward.

JPD says 45-year old Jamie Blackburn of Paoli was eastbound on 30th Street in her SUV approaching Newton and 57-year old Glen Sanders of Birdseye, was northbound on Newton in his car and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Sanders told police he had the green light while Blackburn told police she was following traffic as it was proceeding through the intersection.

Police say Sanders complained of pain to his head and wrist.  His 58-year old wife Carol complained of pain to her head, arm and leg. Both were transported to Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Blackburn was not hurt.
