Frieda I. Hohler, 95, Jasper
Frieda I. Hohler, 95, of Jasper, died Monday (May 25) at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Celestine September 22, 1919, to Frank and Margaret (Schnell) Heichelbech. She married Urban M. Hohler June 17, 1947. He died November 26, 1995.
Frieda was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Blessed Virgin Sodality. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, embroidery, Word Search, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed mother – daughter sleep overs.
She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Seger and husband Michael, Paoli, and Donna Schwartz and husband Gerald, and Mary Lou Gehlhausen, all of Jasper; two sons, Dennis Hohler and wife Becky, and Mark Hohler, all of Jasper; nine grandchildren, Kevin J. Gehlhausen and wife Veronica, Teresa Giesler and husband Mark. Keith Seger, Amy Graves and husband Bradley, Jill Graham and husband Daniel, Ryan Hohler and wife Ashley, Scott Hohler, Brian Schwartz, and Jeffrey Schwartz and wife Cari; eight great grandchildren, Gavin and Coty Giesler, Jacob and Austin Graves, Bentley Graham, Myla Hohler, and Henry and Thomas Schwartz;
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by six sisters, Cecelia Schroering, Bernadine Rape, Rose Pieper, Bertha Kossen Mahlman, Veronica Heichelbech and Helen Heichelbech, who died in infancy, and three brothers, Herbert, Alois, and Ray Heichelbech.
Services at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner
Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church. A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday led by the Blessed Virgin Sodality Memorial contributions may be made to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center or to Holy Family Church.
