Agnes E. Lueken, 96, Jasper
Agnes E. Lueken, 96, of Jasper, died Sunday (May 24) at St. Charles Health Campus in Japer. She was born in Jasper January 25, 1919, to Leopold and Catherine (Otto) Stemle. She married Jerome Lueken June 9, 1945. He died June 20, 1967.
Agnes retired from Memorial Hospital and Health Care where she worked for 20 years in food services. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and the Blessed Virgin Sodality. She quilted for the church for many years.
She is survived by one son, John Lueken and wife Jacque, Huntingburg; three daughters, Mary Beth Flick and husband James, Jasper, Dee Thorndell, Louisville, Kentucky, and Donna Pund, Jasper; four grandchildren, Nathan Pund, Sara Boswell, Emily Ricker, and Matthew Lueken; four great grandchildren; and one brother, ,Robert Stemle.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Anna Catherine Lueken, who died in infancy, one grandson, Michael Lasher, and three brothers, Henry, Lawrence (Lefty), and Ralph (Cotton) Stemle.
Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Church.
