Albertina E. Marks, 95, Jasper
Albertina E. Marks, 95, of Jasper, died Monday (May 11) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Jasper July 11, 1919, to Jacob and Rose (Sermersheim) Schneider. She married Ralph Edward Marks, Sr. September 5, 1942, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He died January 27, 2003.
Albertina was a homemaker, seamstress, and child caregiver. She was member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin of Holy Family, and the St. Joseph’s Church D of I. She loved flower gardening, sewing, going on drives, cooking, and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Rosie Henriott and husband, Jay, and Mary Ann “Annie” Stone and husband, Ronald, all of Jasper; five sons, Ralph Marks Jr. and wife Judy, Seven Hills, Ohio, Thomas Marks, Loogootee, Anthony “Tony” Marks, Evansville, Bill Marks and wife Eileen, Jasper, and Pat Marks and wife, Karen, Celestine; 15 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death one son, John Leo Marks, one grandson, Jacob Marks, and two brothers, Raymond and Ralph Schneider.
Services at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Blessed Virgin Sodality and the Jasper D of I will pray a rosary at 12:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Church or to a favorite charity.
