Weekend Fight Lands Huntingburg Man In Jail; In-Store Cameras Help Police Nab Alcohol Thief (VIDEO)
HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – An argument between two men at a home on east 5th Street in Huntingburg late Saturday night resulted in one of the men going to jail.
HPD says 25-year old Brandon Lubbers was taken into custody after argument between he and 37-year old Servando Angeles got physical.
Police say Angeles suffered injuries to an elbow and leg in the altercation. HPD says Lubbers fled the scene before officers arrived, but he was later located hiding in the trunk of a car behind the residence where the altercation occurred. =
Lubbers is charged with battery.
Northside Laundromat Broken Into; Police Asking For Help In Finding Who Did It
JASPER (NNDC) – The Jasper Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding the person or people responsible for a break-in of a north side business overnight Saturday.
JPD says the Soap Opera Laundry at 241 West 41st Street was broken into sometime between 6pm Saturday and 8am Sunday.
JPD is asking if anyone has any knowledge of the break-in to call 812-482-2255 or you can call the local police anonymous tip line at 812-481-COPS (2677).
Local Minor Charged With Theft; Consumption
HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – An 18-year old Huntingburg man was arrested after in-store video cameras alleged caught him stealing alcohol from the CVS Pharmacy at 6th and Main Streets Sunday night.
Huntingburg police were called to the pharmacy shortly before 9pm. HPD says officers viewed the in-store video and were able to identify the suspect as Eric McNabb.
Officer say they located McNabb a short time later at Main Street and 2nd Avenue and he was taken into custody.
He is charged with Minor Consumption and Theft; both misdemeanors.
Holland Woman Charged With Driving While Suspended; Again
HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – A traffic stop for speeding resulted in a Holland woman taken into custody for driving with a suspended license.
HPD says officers pulled over 23-year old Ashley Tempel in the 1000 block of North Chestnut Street at about 8:20pm for speeding. HPD says Tempel’s car was clocked at 38mph in a 25mph zone.
Officers also discovered that Tempel was driving while her license was suspended and that she had been convicted of the same offense earlier.
