Jasper Blanks Forest Park in Softball, 14-0; Southridge Loses in Extras (SCOREBOARD)



North Knox 5 Southridge 4 (8 innings)

The Lady Raiders rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings, but North Knox scored in the top of the eight and defeated Southridge, 5 to 4, Saturday at the Southridge softball field. The Raiders outhit the Warriors, 9 to 7, but three Raider errors proved costly. Rachel Hanebutt had a double for Southridge. The jayvee game was rained out.

Jasper 14 Forest Park 0

Jasper’s Olivia Knies and Lexie Rohlman combined to pitch a one-hit shutout as the Wildcats won at Forest Park Saturday, 14 to 0. The Lady Wildcats had 10 hits. Jordan Voges had the only hit for Forest Park, now 7 and 12. The game was halted by lightning in the bottom of the fifth.

The Castle Knights won team honors Saturday with a 325 score in Jasper’s Wildcat Invitational at Sultan’s Run. The Jasper White team finished second with a 329. The Jasper Black team totaled 364, Southridge carded a 415.

SOUTHRIGE (415) – Drew Dearing 88, Mitch Steinkamp 91, Luke Taylor 115, Brayden Wibbeler 121.

Crawford County Invitational – South Central 340, Forest Park 350 (won tie-breaker), Borden 350, Crawford County 353, Perry Central 371, Forest Park JV 392, Christian Academy 415, Crawford County JV (no team score), West Washington (no team score)

South Central, with medalist Kamden Hurst leading the way with a 76, won the Crawford County Invitational Saturday at the Lucas Oil Golf Course. South Central carded a 340, 10 stokes ahead of Forest Park and Borden at 350. Forest Park finished second thanks to a tie-breaker on the number 5 player score.

FOREST PARK JAYVEES (392) – Zach Wendholt 87, Travis Nord 99, Matthew Nonte 102, Dylan Greulich 104, Phillip Rogier 121.
