Another Shutout For Jasper; Lady Jeeps Fall At Shoals (SCOREBOARD)


Jasper 5  Forest Park 0

At Jasper, the 3A #3 Wildcats remain undefeated with the win.  Brayden Betz throws a complete game one-hit shutout for Jasper.   Jasper has outscored its opponents 54-3  in its last five games; four of them shutouts.  One of those wins was a 3-0 shutout of then 4A #1 Indianapolis Cathedral.

Northeast Dubois 18  Shoals 3

Northeast Dubois broke a scoreless tie with a 10-run fourth inning enroute to an 18-3 five-inning game at Shoals. Braden Wineinger led a 12-hit attack for the Jeeps with a grand slam home run. Eric Dodson, Jacob Gress, Drew Jacob, and Case Eisenhut each contributed two RBI. Cayden Knies went the distance on the mound for the winners, striking out nine, allowing four hits, two walks, and three unearned runs. The Jeeps improve to 9-5-1 for the season.


Jasper 14  Mt. Carmel 0

Olivia Knies pitched a 3-hitter and Paige Werner drove in five runs as host Jasper breezed by Mt. Carmel, 14-0, in Big 8 Conference play at Jasper. The Lady Wildcats jumped out to an early lead with six runs in the second inning and then iced things up with eight more in the fourth, which included a grand slam home run by Werner. Jasper improves to 15-6 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Shoals 13 Northeast Dubois 10

The host Lady Jug Rox scored 11 runs in the first four innings and then held off Northeast Dubois, 13-10. Chloe Johnson led the Lady Jeeps offense with a double, single, and three RBI. Hanlee Zehr added two RBI. Northeast Dubois drops to 4 and 10 for the seaon.
