Polls Now Open In Dubois County; Only Three Contested GOP Races

JASPER (NNDC) – Today is primary election day here in Indiana and Dubois County.

The polls opened at 6am; they will close at 6pm.

There are only three contested races on the primary ballot in Dubois County; all three on the Republican ticket.

First-term Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz is up against Steve Messmer, a local businessman in the GOP Jasper mayoral primary.  Also in Jasper, John Bell and Scott Blazey are seeking the Republican nomination for the city council District 3 seat that will be vacated by incumbent Republican Dave Prechtel at the end of the year.

And in Huntingburg, first-term District 2 city councilman Alex Blackgrove is being challenged by fellow Republican Jeff Bounds.
