John R. Krodel, 66, Indianapolis
John R. Krodel, 66, of Indianapolis, died Friday (May 1), at his home. He was born in Huntingburg November 3, 1948, to Edgar and Velma (Kieffner) Krodel. He married Ruth Ann Goller September 21, 1968, in St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads. John was a 1966 graduate of Dubois High School. He received an associate degree from the Louisville School of Technology. He worked for Texas Instruments form 1968 to 1992 and for Hewlett Packard from 1992 until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church for 40 years and a member of the Eagle Pines Golf Course. He enjoyed playing golf, cards, spending time with family and friends, and his pets.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Krodel; four daughters, Kristie Carr, Brownsburg, Dawn Freund, Mooresville, Rhonda Gallagher, Indianapolis, and Jennifer Patel, Los Angeles, California; eight grandchildren; one brother, Rudy Krodel and wife Barbara, Jasper; and sister-in-law Conchitta Barrett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in dath by one sister, Judith Ann Krodel, and one brother, Thomas H. Krodel.
Services at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Haysville, Indiana. The Rev. Charla Grieves will officiate. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service time at church. Condolences may be made at www.becherkluesner.com.
