Jasper Continues To Roll; Jeeps Lose To Defending 1A State Champs (SCOREBOARD)



Jasper 11 Jeffersonville 0

At Jeffersonville, the Wildcats continue to roll with the run-ruled, six-inning road win. Ben Moore throws a complete game one-hitter as 3A #3 Jasper improves to 15-0 for the season. Moore gave up a hit to Jeff’s lead-off batter in the first and then shut down the Red Devils the rest of the way. Austin Alles and Zach Keusch both had 2-RBI doubles for Jasper. Jasper travels to Indianapolis Cathedral Saturday for a game matching two undefeated state-ranked teams.

Forest Park 12 Gibson Southern 2

At Ferdinand, Forest Park jumped out early on the visiting Titans. Andy Schlachter 3 for 4 at the plate with 4 RBIs; two of his hits were doubles. Damon Wilmes and Trever Zink were also 3 of 4 for the Rangers. Ben Wendholt goes the distance on the mound for Forest Park to get the win. The Rangers are now 7-4 overall.

Shakamak 5 Northeast Dubois 4

At Jasonville, the 1A #5 Lakers score the tie-breaking run in the bottom of the sixth for the win. Nolan Rasche with two RBIs in the loss as the Jeeps fall to 7-4-1 overall for the season.


Tecumseh 12 Forest Park 4

At Bretzville, the visiting Lady Braves scored six of their 12 runs in the first two innings and they coast to the win. Payton Begle was 3 for 3 at the plate for the Lady Rangers with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. The loss drops Forest Park to 5-10 for the season. Tecumseh also won the Junior Varsity game 14-3. Lanette Blume had a double and triple for Forest Park.

Heritage Hills 7 Southridge 2

At Lincoln City, Heritage Hills scored four runs in the first and it would be all they need enroute to the win over the Lady Raiders. Southridge was held to just three hits as Southridge falls to 4-8 overall.


Washington Catholic 171 Forest Park 183

At Country Oaks Golf Course near Montgomery, the Rangers shot game was not on par as 94 of Forest Park’s 183 total team strokes were within 15 feet of the green. The loss drops the Rangers to 9-4 for the season.

At Jasper, the Wildcats continue to roll in a run-ruled, five-inning win over the Jeeps. Cal Krueger had a two-run home run for Jasper in the bottom of the third. Sophomore Reece Kleinhelter throws a complete game one-hitter in his first varsity appearance. Jasper improves to 14-0 with the win; the Jeeps fall to 7-3-1.

Southridge 12 Pike Central 8

At Huntingburg, the Raiders rallied from six runs down after the top of the second inning to win at League Stadium. After the shaky start, Peyton Mattingly goes the distance on the mound for Southridge to get the win. Andrew Recker had a double and 2 RBIs for the Raiders; he also scored twice, Connor Craig had two hits and 2 RBIs. Chad Meyer had 3 RBIs for the Raiders who improve to 10-6 with the win.


Boonville 9 Jasper 3

At Jasper, the 3A #8 Lady Wildcats found themselves down five runs after one and they never recovered. Jasper falls to 15-5 over with the loss.

Pike Central Southridge 4

At Huntingburg, starting pitcher Megan Stapleton hit a solo home run in the first for the Lady Raiders, but it wasn’t enough as Pike Central scores seven runs in the final three innings to get the win. Southridge falls to 4-7 with the loss.

Crawford County 3 Forest Park 1

At Marengo, A walkoff two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning lifts the Lady Wolfpack to the win. Jordan Voges 2-3 with the Lady Rangers only RBI in the gallgame. Forest Park falls to 5-9 with the loss.
