Bernice M. “Bunny” Roelle, 95, Jasper
Bernice M. (Bunny) Roelle, 95, of Jasper, died Thursday (April 30) Indiana, passed away Thursday (April 30) at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born in Jasper November 10, 1919, to George and Barbara Ann Gardner. She married James T. Roelle June 9, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He died July 3, 1985.
Bernice was a homemaker and worked for Jasper Cabinet Company as a secretary for many years. She was the valedictorian of the Jasper High School Class of 1937. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by three sons, Steve Roelle, Jasper, Mike Roelle and wife Marsha Graham, Curwensville, Pennsylvania, and Jeff Roelle and companion Bethany Hamilton, Orlando, Florida; two grandchildren, Shawn and Andrea Graham; two sisters, Mary Lee Brockman and husband Jim, Evansville, and Julia Eversman, Indianapolis.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Ann, who died in infancy, and one brother, Cliff Gardner.
Services at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Holy Family Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary will pray the rosary at 2:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Church or to a favorite charity.
