Bombers Split Twin Bill at Home

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Dubois County Bombers split another double-header on Friday night at League Stadium with the Muhlenberg County Stallions.  The Bombers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after just three innings and never looked back.   The Stallions got on the board with a three spot in the seventh inning but it was not enough as Dubois County went on to a 10-3 win.   Game one was a continuation of a game previously started at Muhlenberg County but postponed due to rain.

Dubois County had a big third inning as they plated 5 runs with RBI’s by Tobe Whitten, Ben Wilcoxson, Evan Kahre and Nick Gonzales.   The Bombers had 14 hits in the game.   Gavin Napier, Tobe Whitten, Nick Gonzales and Jake Lewis all collected multiple hits for Dubois County.   Napier went 3 for 5 at the plate to lead the Bombers.

Colton Easterwood was credited with the victory for Dubois County.   He went 6 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out four.  Jaxson Blair threw 2 1/3 innings in relief out of the bullpen.

In game two, it was Muhlenberg County who jumped out early taking a 3-0 lead after three innings.   Pitching was strong for both teams as each struck out six in the low scoring game.    The Stallions tallied six hits in the game and committed no errors while Dubois County had four hits and two errors.   Those four hits for Dubois County came as Evan Kahre, Cooper Trinkle, John McDonald and Tanner Craig each collected one hit.

Luke Fitton was credited for the loss.   He lasted three innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out two.

Dubois County is now 18-13 on the season and will return to action tonight as the Bombers start a three game road trip.   Saturdays game is at Brooks Stadium, home of the Paducah Chiefs.   First pitch is set for 7:30pm Eastern.   The Bombers return home on Tuesday night to face Fulton at 7pm Eastern.

 

Dubois County Bombers Drop One at Home

Huntingburg (NNDC):   The Dubois County Bombers collect 8 hits on Thursday night at League Stadium against Madisonville but was unable to pull out the victory.   Scoreless thru 5 innings, the Miners struck first plating two in the top of the 6th which would prove to be enough for the win.   The Bombers picked up one run in the bottom of the 6th but Madisonville extended their lead in the top of the 7th sending two more Miners across the plate.  Dubois County was able to add another run in the bottom of the 8th while Madisonville added one of their own in the top of the 9th.   The Miners picked up a 5-2 win over Dubois County.    Nick Gonzales went 3 for 4 on the night to lead the Bombers.   Reece Kleinhelter took the loss for Dubois County.   He allowed 3 hits and 2 runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

The Bombers return to action on Friday night as they travel to Muhlenberg County to face the Stallions.   Dubois County returns home on Saturday night when Hoptown visits League Stadium.    The Bombers are bringing back the Flying Hounds Frizbee Dogs to the ballpark to entertain kids of all ages.   This action packed show will have dogs flying everywhere and catching everything while entertaining the fans at the ballpark.  Bring your family and catch the fun at League Stadium.   Game time on Saturday night is 7pm Eastern.
