Southridge Raiders Baseball State Finals preview

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Southridge Raiders Baseball team will be looking for their 1st ever State Baseball Title on Saturday at Victory Field in Indianapolis.   The Raiders (25-6) will face Boone Grove (21-5) for the Class 2A title with the game time set for 2pm ET.   Tickets are $10 at the gate with seating being general admission and Children 2 years of age or younger can enter free of charge.  The gates will open at 10am on Saturday which is 1 hour prior to the Class 1A State Championship which will feature Daleville (21-9) and University (28-6).   The Class 3A title game will follow the Southridge/Boone Grove contest with an scheduled start time at 5pm.

Southridge earned their way to the Class 2A State Championship game by winning the Jasper Semi-State last weekend over Indianapolis Secina 7-2 in front of a huge Raider contingent.    The Raiders have outscored their opponents 62-6 since Sectional play started.   Southridge is under the direction of 1st year Head Coach Gene Mattingly and takes a 25-6 record into the Championship against the Wolves of Boone Grove.

If you’re going to the game, prepare for sunny skies and hot temperatures with the expected game time temperature to be around 90 degrees.    There are several options for parking at Victory Field with the closest option being on the West side of the stadium.   Parking is $5 at this location.   There are several other parking options which include the State Garage that’s located on the Northeast corner of Maryland and West streets along with the underground garage located on the Northwest side of the stadium.

NNDC will keep you updated on the latest information concerning the Raiders as they try to bring home the 2nd State Championship to Southridge this school year.   The football Raiders defeated Woodlan at Lucas Oil Stadium for the Class 2A title in November.
