Dubois County Bombers Win on the Road

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Dubois County Bombers road trip continues with another win which pushes their record to 20-13.   In a game that saw several lead changes, it was the Bombers who came out on top thanks to a pair of runs that crossed the plate in the 6th inning against Madisonville.

The game was tied at 5 heading into the sixth inning when Dubois County plated two runs for the lead.   Madisonville added one run in the bottom half of the seventh but wasn’t enough as the Bombers held the Miners scoreless for the remainder of the game.   Dubois County went on to win the game 7-6.

The Bombers and Miners each tallied 11 hits on the game which included two homeruns by Madisonville and one long ball by the Bombers.   Graham Hackbarth and Caleb Noble went deep for the Miners and Gavin Napier hit a solo shot for Dubois County in the second inning.   Napier, Tanner Craig and Evan Kahre had a multi-hit games while Napier went 3 for 3 at the plate.

Reece Kleinhelter picked up the win for Dubois County after pitching four innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out two.   Tobe Whitten picked up the save for the Bombers.

The road trip will come to an end tonight as Dubois County travels to Henderson for a Monday night battle.   The Bombers return home on Tuesday night to face Fulton before hitting the road again on Thursday for a 4 game roadtrip.

Busy Week for the Dubois County Bombers

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Dubois County Bombers returned to League Stadium on Thursday night for their second double header in two days.    Game one found the Bombers on fire early against Fulton and jumped out to a twelve to nothing lead after just 2 innings.

Dubois County collected 13 hits in the game including a homerun in the 2nd by Nolan Ramsey who had 5 RBI’s in the game.   Leading 13-0 heading into the top of the 5th, the Bombers gave up 5 runs to the Railroaders before bouncing back with 4 of their own in the bottom half of the 5th inning giving Dubois County a 17-5 lead.   The Bombers held Fulton scoreless in the 6th and 7th giving Dubois County their 12th win on the season.

Kevin Davis inked the win for Dubois County while pitching 4 innings, allowing 2 hits, no runs, striking out three and walking one in the 17-5 victory.

Game 2 was a much different story as both teams battled on the mound.   Dubois County scored two in the 3rd and added a run in the 4th.   Fulton battled back scoring a single run in both the 5th and 6th inning before the Bombers shut down the Railroaders for the night.   Dubois County improved their record to 13-10 with the 3-2 win over Fulton.    Evan Hall picked up the victory for the Bombers.   Hall allowed seven hits and one run over five innings, striking out three.   Jaxson Blair picked up the save.

The Bombers have now won 5 of their last 6 games as they gear up for a busy weekend at League Stadium.   Dubois County will host the Henderson Flash on Friday night and the River Dawgs from Owensboro on Saturday.   Game time is 7pm both nights.

The OVL All-Star game takes center stage this Sunday at Hoptown.   Players who will be representing the Bombers include Cody Bridges, Evan Sankey, Jacob Frankel, Jaxson Blair, Nick Gonzales, Nolan Ramsey and Tanner Craig.
