Red Hot Bombers Win in Extra Innings

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Red Hot Dubois County Bombers win in dramatic fashion on Friday night at League Stadium in 15 innings over the Henderson Flash.  It was a night where the base paths saw a lot of action with the Bombers and Flash each collecting 16 hits.

Dubois County took a 6-5 lead into the 8th inning before the Flash tied it up in the top half of the inning.   Both teams were unable to plate another run which lead to free baseball in Huntingburg.    The Bombers and Flash remained scoreless until the top of the 15th inning when Henderson plated one and took a 7-6 lead into the Bombers half of the inning.   Dubois County sent 4 batters to the plate in the 15th.   The inning started with Cooper Trinkle advancing to first on a walk,  Nick Gonzalez reached 1st on a ground ball error to 3rd base advancing Trinkle to second base.  Evan Kahre pinched hit for Nolan Ramsey and advanced on a bunt single to the pitcher which led to the Bombers having bases loaded.   Tanner Craig stepped into the box and earned a walk, scoring Trinkle and tying the game.   Austin Peay product John McDonald stepped into the batters box with bases loaded, no outs and sent a fly ball into center field, scoring Gonzalez giving Dubois County the 8-7 win.

The win is the Bombers 3rd in a row and the 6th in their last 7 games and moves their win/loss record to 14-10.   Jack Anderson picked up the win for Dubois County.   He allowed two hits and one run while striking out three in his 3 innings of work.   The Bombers were led in hitting with Cooper Trinkle, Matthew Andrews and Evan Aders picking up three hits each.

The Bombers return to action on Saturday night as the Owensboro River Dawgs visit League Stadium.  Game time is 7pm.

 

 

 

Dubois County Bombers Land 7 Players in OVL All-Star Game

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Ohio Valley League has released their 2018 All-Stars and Dubois County is represented very well for the 3rd annual All-Star game.   The Bombers landed 7 players on this years East squad which features players from Dubois County,  Henderson,  Muhlenberg County and Owensboro.   The West squad will feature players from Hoptown, Madisonville,  Paducah and Fulton.

Players who will be representing the Bombers include Cody Bridges, Evan Sankey, Jacob Frankel, Jaxson Blair, Nick Gonzales, Nolan Ramsey and Tanner Craig.

The OVL All-Star game will take place at Christian County High School Colonel Field which is the home of the Hoptown Hoppers.    Game time is set for 7pm Eastern  Sunday July 1st.  and will be preceded by a Fielding and Pitching Challenge along with the fan favorite, Home Run Derby.
