Lucille J. Schilling, 93, Jasper

Lucille J. Schilling, 93, of Jasper, died  Saturday, August 1, at the home of a daughter. She was born in Siberia July 1, 1927, to Louis and Angela (Boeglin) Hulsman. She married Alfred Schilling November 26, 1946, in Siberia. He died December 1, 1986.

Lucille was a 1944 graduate of the Academy of the Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand. She was a homemaker and retired from Siebert’s in Jasper, where she worked in retail sales for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, the St. Anne’s Society, the Daughters of Isabella, and the original Home Demonstration Club. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Dana Hoffman and husband Alan, and Myra Schuetter and husband Wayne, all of Jasper, and Alane Ploetner and husband Wayne, Schnellville; three grandchildren, Lori Mehringer and husband Todd, Jill Kelly and husband Jason, and Mark Hoffman and wife Nicki; 11 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Nathan, and Brandon Mehringer, Ella, Jack, Samuel, Ryan, and Kate Kelly, and Audrey, Abe, and Charlotte Hoffman.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Linus and Richard Hulsman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherkluesner.com.
