Daniel L. Kluesner, 75, Dubois

Daniel L. Kluesner, 75, of Dubois, died Thursday, May 14, at his home. He was born in Dubois August 19, 1944, to Albert and Marcella (Fromme) Kluesner. He married Susie Bauer September 8, 1966, at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine.

Daniel retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad after 34 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army Indiana National Guard. He was a member of Jasper American Legion Post 147, St. Isidore Parish – St. Raphael Catholic Church, and the Good Sheppard of the Hills Knights of Columbus. He served as the St. Isidore Parish groundskeeper and a server for many funeral masses. He served on the Dubois Water Utilities board of directors and was a member of the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting trips to Colorado, and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Kluesner; one daughter; Danielle Kluesner, Dubois; two sons; Shawn Kluesner and wife Keely, French Lick, and Steve Kluesner and wife Rachael, Bretzville; four grandchildren, Kaedan, Brody, Tynley, and Sophie Kluesner; four sisters, Carol Gutgsell and husband Donnie and Mary Jane Flinn, all of Dubois, Susie Schilling and husband Tom, St. Henry, and Nancy Kluesner, Jasper; and five brothers; James, Marvin, and Paul Kluesner, Roger Kluesner and wife Deb, and Herman Kluesner and wife Lynn, all of Dubois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marcella Kluesner.

Private funeral services will be held at St. Raphael Church with burial following in St. Peter’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Dubois.
