Runway Project Kickoff at Huntingburg Regional Airport


Huntingburg regional airport manager Travis McQueen and Dubois county airport Authority President along with several members and Senator Mike Braun, elected officials, representatives of INDOT, engineering, and consultants got a tour of the project which is 10 years in the making.   90% of this $7 million dollar project is federally funded through the FAA,  INDOT, and the Dubois County Airport Authority.

The project includes a 500 foot runway extension, 180 foot tunnel, protections to the Runway Safety Area(RSA), Runway Protection Zone(RPZ), and sets the stage for future extensions of the runway.   The project also enables the current airport corporate tenants including (Kimball, OFS Brands, Jasper Engines, Best Chairs and Masterbrand) to fly further, safer, and more economically enabling corporate aircraft to carry additional people, baggage and fuel.
