Emil H. Krodel, 82, Jasper

Emil H. Krodel, 82, of Jasper, died Friday, January 10, at the Timbers of Jasper. He was born in Jasper January 30, 1937, to Harry and Mary (Harder) Krodel. He married Carol S. Young May 29, 1965, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Emil was a U.S. Army \veteran and served in Germany. He was a member of Jasper American Legion Post 147. He retired from the Kimball Corporation after 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Jasper Moose Lodge 1175, and Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed coaching and managing little league teams in his younger years, camping, fishing, playing cards, and going to the casino. He was an avid Indiana University basketball and NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Krodel; one son, Dean A. Krodel, Vincennes; one brother, Clifford Krodel and wife Judy, Jasper; one sister, Susanm Witt, Triangle, Virginia; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Lilly Mae Bauer.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Jasper Moose Lodge will perform a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherkluesner.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with entombment following in the Fairview Cemetery. Mausoleum. American Legion Post 147 will conduct military graveside rites.
