Martha L. Dixon, 80, Tell City

Martha L. Dixon, 80, of Tell City, died Tuesday, January 7, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. She was born in Jasper September 4, 1939, to Clarence and Virginia (Lechner) Petry.

Martha enjoyed embroidering, reading, dancing, fishing, and cracking walnuts and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Ann Puyear and husband Tommy, Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and June Laymon, Tell City; one son, Larry Laymon and wife Tina, Tell City; one sister, Linda Steffen, Jasper; three brothers, Bob Petry, St. Henry, Tim Petry, Loogootee, and Randy Petry, Jasper; nine grandchildren, Jayda Holloway and husband Seth, Jason Laymon, Amanda Rea and husband Kenny, Curtis Storey and wife Mikeala, Chris, Craig , and Janessa Laymon, and James and Brittney Harlen; and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Dixon, two sons, Jerry and Jess Laymon, three brothers, Kenny, David, and Daniel Petry, and two grandsons, Jeremiah Robertson and Joshua Laymon.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Friday at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. Memorial contributions can be made to VFW Post 2939. Funeral services at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Linda Simpson will officiate.
