Debra May Duvall, 44, Loogootee

Debra May Duvall, 44, of Loogootee, died Tuesday, January 7, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Jasper November 24, 1975, to John E. and Louise (Schnarr) Freyberger. She married Douglas A. Duvall August 10, 1996, at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville.

Debra was a 1994 graduate of Barr-Reeve High School, a graduate of Vincennes University with an Associate’s Degree in teaching, and of the University of Southern Indiana, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in teaching. She was a teacher and school bus driver for Barr-Reeve schools. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville and the VFW Post 673 Auxiliary in Jasper. Debra taught Sunday school at Christ Lutheran Church in the nursery for 14 years and served several years on the church council. She loved children, being outdoors, playing cards, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Doug Duvall; one son, Michael Duvall and companion Brooklyn Allen, Loogootee, one daughter, Adriana Bittorf and husband Ryan,  Loogootee, one  sister, Michelle (Jason) Davis and husband Jason, Loogootee; one brother, John Michael Freyberger and wife Lindsey, Washington, her mother, Louise Freyberger, Loogootee; and five nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Freyberger, her grandparents, John W. and Florence Freyberger and Clyde and Amy Schnarr, and one nephew, John Carter Freyberger.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Christ Lutheran Church fund for new doors or to the Barr-Reeve Scholarship Fund. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with burial following in Haysville Community Cemetery. Pastor Tim Kraemer will officiate.
