Pauline R. Brosmer, 88, Schnellville

Pauline R. Brosmer, 88, of Schnellville, died Sunday, December 29, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Jasper February 13, 1931, to George and Frances (Spellmeyer) Mehringer. She married Lawrence Brosmer October 6, 1951, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Pauline worked at the Jasper Glove Factory, Jasper Desk, and Indiana Desk. She was a homemaker and farmer with her husband. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish  –  Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its St. Anne’s Society, the Schnellville  Homemaker’s Club, and the Schnellville Community Club. She enjoyed praying, reading, gardening, canning, working on the farm with the animals, especially her peacocks, sewing, playing cards, going on picnics, and outings with family, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Brosmer; five daughters, Mary Fromme and husband Joseph, Jasper, Karen Fuhrman and husband Glenn , Rose Loepker and husband Donald, and Janice Thayer and husband Douglas, all of Schnellville, and Susan Merkley and husband George, St. Anthony; four sons, Paul Brosmer and and wife Julia, Eugene Brosmer and fiancé Linda Fendel, Larry Brosmer, and John Brosmer and wife Diane, all of Schnellville; 17 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gertrude Sabelhaus, Indianapolis.

In addition to her parents she was preceded by three grandchildren, Joseph Fromme Jr.,  Robert Kern, and Nathan Brosmer, one sister, Mary Katherine Huber, and one brother, Basil Mehringer.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 9-10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church. The St. Anne’s Society will pray a rosary at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Divine Mercy Parish, the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund, or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherkluesner.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the church with burial following in the church cemetery.
