Luther R. Mann, 76, Boone Township

Luther R. Mann, 76, of Boone Township, died Sunday, December 1, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Boone Township April 8, 1943, to Ralph and Hilda (Hoffman) Mann. He married Lou Ella Kieffner May 14, 1966, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville.

Luther was a 1961 graduate of Ireland High School. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves and was a lifetime farmer. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jasper where he served on the church council and several committees, the Young Farmers, where he received an award for outstanding farmer of the year, the advisory board for Boone Township, and the Dubois County 4-H board. He enjoyed fishing, was a student pilot, and loved flying.

He is survived by his wife Lou Ella Mann; two sons, Jeffery Mann and wife Lisa, Boone Township, and Timothy Mann and wife Nicole, Wooster, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Brittney Lagerman and husband Alex, Lauren Ebenkamp and husband Samuel, Kaitlyn Mann, Olivia Clevenger and husband Morgan, and Ethan, Logan, and Jillian Mann; one great-grandson, Henry Ebenkamp; one brother, Paul Mann and wife Linda, Jasper, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Harold Eck, and one nephew, Steve Mann.

Friends may call from noon-6 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Contributions may be made to Redeemer Church  or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with burial following in St. John’s Cemetery in Boone Township. Pastor Adam Ruschau will officiate.
