Jasper (NNC):

The Greater Downtown Jasper Business Association with a parade of children leading Santa up to square where in a bright red fire truck.

Children and adults captured the spirit of Christmas as they gatherd around the beautifully decorated downtown Square in Jasper.

Children met with Santa and his elves at the east 6th Street Fire Station from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m.  At that time, Santa and his elves were joined by members of the Jasper High School band and paraded to the west side of the Square. Many children are were dressed in costumes like Christmas packages and walked along in the mini-parade.

As members of the high school band play Christmas music – – an elementary school contest winner will open the door so Santa and his elves can enter and greet children for the remainder of the afternoon.  Mayor Dean Vonderheide was on hand to welcome everyone with a special greeting.

Santa then spent a few hours visiting with children in his special Christmas House.
