Ruth Glen Burlingame Mann, 91, Jasper

Ruth Glen Burlingame Mann, 91, of Jasper, died Saturday, November 23, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Velpen April 19, 1928, to Glen and Emma (Robinson) Burlingame. She married Lester W. Mann February 14, 1947, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township. He died December 23, 2011.

Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Ireland High School. She was  a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township where she served and volunteered as an officer for various committees. She was a member of the Ireland Homemakers Club and enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting, tatting, baking, reading, working on  puzzles, and her flower garden, especially her geraniums. She loved the Christmas holidays and she and her husband loved to travel.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda M. Selb, Jasper; three grandchildren, Chad and Ryan Morton and Emma Halter-Mann; eight great -grandchildren, and one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Halter.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Martha L. Corn and Rebecca L. Mann, one brother, Paul Burlingame, and three sons-in-law, Bruce J. Selb, Randy Morton, and Roger Corn.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. John’s Church. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Timothy Kraemer will officiate.
