Betty N. Brittain, 93, Jasper

Betty N. Brittain, 93, of Jasper, died Friday, November 22, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Petersburg November 14, 1926, to Homer and Ruth (Brenton) Boger. She married Glen Brock Brittain March 2, 1946, in Washington. He died August 12, 2017.

Betty attended Petersburg High School and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Otwell United Methodist Church, a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper and the VFW Post 673 Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, cooking, and taking care of her flowers.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Wagner and husband Steve, Jasper, and Brenda McDonnell and husband Terry, Lancaster, South Carolina; one son, Greg Brittain, New Palestine; six grandchildren, Scott and Michael Wagner, Ryan McDonnell, Alyssa Shehorn, and Chelsa and Jillian Brittain; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Brittain, one daughter-in-law, Vicki Brittain, one grandson, Chad McDonnell, one sister, Bernice Warner, and four brothers, Bernard, Kenneth, Ebbie, and Joe Boger.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Shiloh Church, Walnut Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, or VFW Post 673 Auxiliary. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church with burial following in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Pastor Dan Sinkhork will officiate.
