Don Rene Mangel, 60, Holland

Don Rene Mangel, 60, of Holland, died Tuesday, November 5, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Huntingburg November 12, 1958, o Maurice and Peggy Mae (Wampler) Mangel.

Don was a graduate of Southridge High School, Oakland City University with an auto technician’s degree, and Ball State University with a Bachelor’s degree. He was employed at Toy’s Auto Parts in Huntingburg. He was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church and the Jasper Coin Club. He was a passionate mechanic, an avid coin collector, and a NASCAR fan. He enjoyed camping, boating, and water skiing, and loved being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy (Denton) Mantel, Holland; two daughters, Misty Mangel and fiancé Chris Aders, Bristow, and Toni Frick and husband Ben, Ferdinand; two sons, Henry Mangel, Louisville, and Meredith Mangel, Vincennes; two stepchildren, Misty Jones and husband Matt, Evansville, and Audrey Fleck, Jasper; one brother, Richard “Dick” Mangel and wife Brenda J., Holland; and 14 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial contributions can be made to Zoar United Methodist Church. Online condolences can be shared at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Funeral services at noon Saturday at the funeral home with burial following in Zoar Cemetery. Rev. Joe Kamman will officiate at the service.
