David Ray Roach, 63, Jasper

David Ray Roach, 63, of Jasper, died Wednesday, October 9, at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Seymour August 9, 1956, to Erwin and Dolores (McGary) Roach. He married Carol Stemle June 18, 1976, at St. Joseph Chapel, in Jasper.

David was a graduate of Jasper High School where he played football and competed in wrestling. He was an avid golfer and was active in Boy Scouts. He worked for the telephone company for 35 years and retired from Frontier Communication in 2012. He worked in the Ruxer Golf Course pro shop in Jasper for the past five years.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Roach; one daughter, Renae Roberts and husband Dustin, Penang, Malaysia; two grandchildren, Gabrel and Marshall; his mother, Dolores Roach, Jasper; one sister, Belinda Carter and husband Jeff, Dimondale, Michigan; and one brother, John Roach and wife Nancy, Jasper.

He was preceded in death by his father, Erwin Leroy Roach, and one niece, Rachael Nicole Roach.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Jasper Church of the Nazarene. Memorial contributions can be made to Dalat International School, Penang  Malaysia. Online condolences can be shared at  www.becherkluesner.com. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with entombment following in Fairview Cemetery. Rev Darrell Wineinger and Rev. Michael Suits will officiate.
